Adverse side events
On May 7, 2014, the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) highlighted the increasing complication rate among patients taking Xarelto, also known as Rivaroxaban. The complication rate reflected a higher number of adverse event rate than ratings previously associated other anti-coagulant medications.
